When I am painting I feel like there is nothing else, I find myself fully absorbed and it "washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life". It transports me to a meditative place. I relive sailing or staring at the sea, feeling the weather and seasons, creating and capturing a moment in time as I have seen and felt. Sometimes nature seems so incredibly beautiful I am over whelmed and it feels like all life is there, intensified in that very moment. Ever since moving to Cornwall in 2011, I have been drawn to the Helford River and the Lizard Peninsula with all its magic; the coastline, ancient stones, churches and houses.
Since a girl I have always loved painting and drawing, looking at art, nature and the countryside. My interest in fine art lead me to gaining a Master of Arts from Edinburgh University. With a family history of sailing, building and living aboard traditional wooden boats I enjoy painting and photographing them too.
